What began 15 years ago with a table saw, a few pieces of wood and a desire to build something, has expanded into an out-of-control hobby. The shop is a dedicated two-car garage in Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition to furniture, I also produce finely crafted wood pens, shadow boxes, swagger sticks, clocks and plaques. You can see pictures of these items on my portfolio page.

TRADITIONAL STYLE

Galt Woodworking is heirloom quality, hand crafted furniture in the Arts & Crafts style.

The Arts & Crafts style originated in England and was prevalent between 1880 and 1910. It then became successful in the U.S. between 1910 and 1925. It is a style that advocates truth to materials and traditional craftsmanship using simple forms and often medieval, romantic or folk styles of decoration. The joinery is an indicator of the craftsmanship of the piece and of the craftsman.
